摘要：

The preparation and certification of matrix reference materials is revisited. The relationships are outlined between the preparation, homogeneity and stability testing, and the characterisation of reference materials in terms of measurement uncertainty. Based on metrological concepts, a statistical model is developed to describe the preparation and certification process, that leads to the property values and their uncertainties.
