Magnetism, structure and transport of Y1-xCaxCoO3 and La1-xBaxCoO3

摘要
We compare the magnetic, structural and transport properties of La1=xBaxCoO3 and Y1-xCaxCoO3 perovskites. The experimental data supported by ab initio calculations reveal that: (i) Y-based perovskites are up to room temperature represented by essentially insulating LS state (T < 300 K) followed by a gradual increase to IS state (S similar to 1) with enhanced conductivity above 500 K; (ii) the magnetic interactions in La-based perovskites are antiferromagnetic with S similar to 1: 5 (T > 700 K) and (iii) the Ba doping induces the ferromagnetic correlations and leads to a highly conducting state above 600 K: (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
