摘要
Efforts have been made to numerically simulate black-ink painting using either the outline-based or the flat-brush-based approach. As both these approaches have drawbacks, the soft-brush concept is proposed. This concept uses 3D brushes with bristle shape that varies dynamically in response to the forces imposed on it by the paper. The interactive modeling algorithm for soft brushes lets users resize brushes and choose a particular color, texture, or type of bristles. With this technique, a user produces brush strokes by brush movement, eliminating the unnatural spline curve editing required by other approaches.
