摘要
A current view of bacterial denitrification and the metal sites involved in these enzymatic processes is given, with a particular focus on the catalytic metal centers that interact directly with nitric oxide (NO). The bioenergetics of denitrification is discussed, with a particular emphasis on the parallels and the contrasts between denitrification and aerobic respiration.
