摘要
An overview of experimental and theoretical work on the nonreactive uptake of acidic trace gases such as HCl, HNO3, HBr, HONO, and SO2 on ice is given. Focus is on work performed within the last 15 years. Topics dicussed include the thermodynamics and kinetics of the trace gas/ice interaction, kinetic analysis of the gas phase, analysis of the condensed phase, methods for the analysis of flow tube and Knudsen cell measurements, evidence for the existence of ions upon trade gas uptake on ice, data on solubility and diffusion, and data on total uptake of different trace gases.
