A novel polymer matrix method for synthesizing ZrO2 nanocrystals at moderate temperature

摘要
A simple chemical method with a polymer matrix was explored and applied for synthesizing stabilized ZrO2 nanocrystals in a single metastable c-phase. The polymer matrix very efficiently dispersed metal cations in an aqueous solution. On evaporation over 50 to 100°C, it slowly turned into a dry precursor powder. Its decomposition and instantaneous combustion at moderate temperature as 600°C yielded a pure stabilized ZrO2 powder.
