摘要
Recent experimental work on the chemical functionalization of single-wall carbon nanotubes and its implication on the tubes' electronic and vibrational properties are surveyed. The dependence of chemical reactivity on the physical and electronic structure of the tubes is discussed. Moreover, experimentally observed changes of the electronic and photonic structure are compared to theoretical predictions for various non-covalent and covalent functionalization schemes.
