摘要
The carbonization of kenaf to prepare highly-microporous carbons was discussed. It was found that some of potassium in kenaf stem was dissolved out in warm HCl solution. The adsorption/desorption isotherms were observed belonged to type I according to IUPAC classification. The BET surface area and pore parameters were analyzed by αs plot. The inner core of kenaf plants was found to be converted to microporous carbons with very high surface area, more than 100 m2/g, in one process of carbonization at around 1000°C in inert atmosphere.
