Ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone initiated by natural amino acids

摘要
The ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of ε-caprolactone (ε-CL) was studied in the presence of natural amino acids. It was dried over calcium hydride for 48 h and distilled under reduced pressure. The molecular weight of poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) depended on the molar ratio of [ε-CL]/[amino acid] in feed. The results indicate that polymerization of ε-CL is initiated by the amino group of amino acid.
