摘要
The development and future directions of ion chromatography (IC) with suppressed conductivity detection are discussed. A electrolytic eluent generator for hydroxide eluents is developed for IC, in which the hydroxide ion in the eluent is generated by electrolysis of water. The concentration of hydroxide in the eluent can be adjusted simply by varying the electrolysis current used in the eluent generator. The development of software tools for rapid computer assisted simulation of IC separations enables eluents and stationary phases to be evaluated by computer simulation and an optimal eluent composition and stationary phase identified with minimal additional experimentation.
