Investigation of the dynamic mechanical behavior of the double-barreled configuration in a magnetorheological fluid damper

摘要
A kind of double-barreled magnetorheological fluid (MRF) damper has been developed and is introduced in this paper. The behavior of the damping C force caused by the MRF effect is different from that of the pure mixed mode (the flow mode combined with the shear mode) devices, although the damper also employs the mixed mode. The difference was analyzed. Based on experimental results and analysis, some typical phenomena are reported which must be considered while designing a double-barreled MRF damper.
