Self-focusing of ion-acoustic surface waves

摘要
An electrostatic ion-acoustic surface wave propagating along the boundary of a semi-infinite plasma is considered. It is shown that a nonlinear Schrodinger equation can describe the development of the wave amplitude. The self-focusing length of a wave beam is estimated. (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
