摘要:
The synthesis and assembly behavior of nucleobase-functionalized block copolymers were investigated. Four nucleons-functionalized block copolymers were synthesized in a controlled fashion with ATRP from a PEG-based macroinitiator of either thymine or adenine nucleobase-functional methacrylates. The two shorter block copolymers formed aggregates in water and CAC was determined with fluorescence spectroscopy. The separate block copolymers showed identical aggregation behavior, which indicated that the assembly was mainly governed by the hydrophobic-to-hydrophilic balance. The results suggested that besides the amphiphilic character, an additional parameter played a crucial role in the block copolymer assembly, namely, the interaction between the complementary thymine and adenine of the block copolymers by an improved shielding of the hydrophobic blocks.
