摘要
The processes to prepare the Al-Al3Ti alloys by mechanical alloying as well as the microstructures and room temperature mechanical properties of these alloys are presented. It shows that the Al3Ti phase is very effective in increasing Young's modulus of the Al-Al3Ti alloys. In addition, these alloys exhibit high strength and good ductility at room temperature. The high strength of these alloys may be attributed to the fine microstructure resulted from mechanical alloying, which consists of submicron sized aluminum grains and Al3Ti particles and very fine dispersoids.
