摘要
The 210 degrees C TL peak in quartz is potentially suitable for evaluation of dose when performing retrospective dosimetry with ceramics down to levels of accrued dose in the region of 50 mGy or less. Moreover, it can be measured with unsophisticated TL readers. However, its radiation sensitivity and characteristics may vary widely between different ceramics according to the type of quartz and manufacturing process. The characteristics of the 210 degrees C TL peak in quartz extracted from different types of ceramic sample were examined and their suitability for retrospective measurements of absorbed dose assessed. The use regeneration procedures with single aliquots produced significantly better levels of precision (<+/-5%) than could be achieved using a multiple aliquot measurement protocol; generally good agreement with OSL dose evaluations performed with the same samples was obtained.
