L-band multiwavelength oscillation in erbium-doped fiber ring laser

摘要
In this letter, L-band multiwavelength operation in an erbium-doped fiber ring laser (EDFRL) is achieved by using a tunable Fabry-Perot etalon as the intracavity comb filter. It is found that, for a ring cavity, the gain spectrum can be controlled, and the flattened gain spectrum at the threshold can be obtained by optimizing the cavity Q-factor. A maximum of six stable lines with a spacing of 1.3 nm in the wavelength range near 1590 nm has been produced at room temperature. (C) 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
