Efficient production of fullerenes by the J x B arc discharge method is investigated. The collection rates of various fullerenes (C-60, C-70, C-76, C-78 and C-84) for many experimental parameters such as magnetic field, discharge current, He pressure and gap distance are measured, and optimum yields of these fullerenes arc obtained at the discharge current of 120 A and lie pressure of 40 hPa by the J x B are discharge method using 8 mmphi carbon rods. By applying the magnetic field, production rates of fullerenes are considerably increased.
