There has been increasing interest in the outcomes of treatments for severe mental disorders. Evidence is provided for the efficacy of medications and for the effectiveness of family interventions, assertive community treatment, skills training, and supported employment, directing future research to the longer term impact of both somatic and psychosocial treatments.
