摘要
Use of a focused autobiographical account to explicate researcher bias in a qualitative study had the unintended effect of identifying additional research questions and analytical insights. Hermeneutic theory suggests that bias, or ''pre-understanding,'' is a necessary condition of any interpretative endeavor.
