摘要
The isothermal section at 873 K in Go-rich ternary Nd-Co-B system was determined by means of X-ray diffraction. In this range, 11 ternary borides were observed: Nd3Co13B2, NdCo4B, Nd5Co19B6, Nd3Co11B4, Nd2Co7B3, Nd2Co14B, NdCo12B6, NdCo4B4, Nd2Co5B3, NdCo2B2, Nd2Co5B2. Among the 11 ternary compounds, two compounds had not been reported previously: hexagonal Nd3Co13B2 with a = 5.0722(4) Angstrom, c = 10.7840(5) Angstrom and hexagonal Nd5Co19B6 with a = 5.1328(3) Angstrom, c = 16.6519(5) . The first five borides are members of the homologous series Rm + nCo5m + 3nB2n formed by alternative stacking in layers of RCo5 with n layers of RCo3B2 along the c-axis. The Nd2Co5B2 compound belongs to the Rm + nCo2m +3nB2n family which is based on the MgZn2-type and the CeCo3B2-type structures. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
