Including dynamical fermions in large-scale lattice simulations is an important step in realizing the promise of lattice QCD as a first-principles approach to the study of non-perturbative phenomena. We describe below our experience carrying out such dynamical simulations with both staggered and domain wall fermions and comment on areas where such dynamical simulations may be particularly important.
