摘要
Organic-inorganic sol-gel coating for corrosion protection of stainless steel was analyzed. Silica-based hybrid coatings were found to be uniform, defect-free and relatively dense. Hybrid coatings on stainless steel substrates enhanced corrosion protection by forming a physical barrier. Results showed that the corrosion mechanisms were found to be strongly dependent on the nature of substrates.
