A new carbon structure formed at MeV neutron irradiation of diamond: structural and spectroscopic investigations

摘要
X-ray, TEM, Raman and IR studies of diamond irradiated with fast neutrons in definitive temperature conditions and annealed at temperatures up to 1150 degrees C were performed. New carbon crystalline structure which is an intermediate structure between graphite and diamond has been revealed. It consists of corrugated graphite-like layers connected by strong diamond-like sp(3) bonds. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
