Bayesian estimate of the effect of B-0(B)over-bar(0) mixing measurements on the CKM matrix elements

A method employing Bayesian statistics is used to incorporate recent experimental results on B-d(0) (B) over bar(d)(0) and B-s(0) (B) over bar(s)(0) mixing into a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements with small theoretical uncertainties. The neutral B meson mixing results yield a slight improvement in the estimate of \V-td\. Prospects for improving the knowledge of the CKM matrix elements with measurements of B-s(0) (B) over bar(s)(0) mixing and the K+ --> pi(+)nu<(nu)over bar> branching ratio are considered.
