摘要
High strength Mg in-situ composites were fabricated via mechanical alloying. Differences in terms of microstructure and crystallite size were identified between the non-mechanically alloyed and mechanically alloyed materials using X-ray diffractometry. It was found that titanium is not fully reacted with boron and/or Al: some Ti still exists after sintering at 500°C and extrusion. However, in situ reinforcements Ti2N and MgB12 were formed after mechanical alloying and sintering or annealing process, indicating that the mechanical alloying process stimulated the reaction between different constituents.
