Electrical conductivity of novel forms of carbon

摘要
The wide variety of novel forms of carbon provides a large spectrum of types and ranges of conductivities. This concerns either the pristine materials, or results from controlled modification of pristine materials through intercalation or doping, or is associated with the low dimensionality of the systems. The present paper contains a brief survey, based on a global comparative microscopic approach, of the electrical resistivity and the physics of conduction related to various forms of carbon, whether pristine or deliberately modified forms. Peculiar quantum aspects of conduction for particular situations encountered in some forms of carbon with respect to other types of solids, are also investigated.
