Crystal growth of new spin-Peierls compound NaV2O5

摘要
The phase diagram of the Na-V-O system was investigated to find the best conditions for the crystal growth of the new spin-Peierls compound NaV2O5. Based on the phase diagram obtained a single crystal with dimensions of 20 x 3 x 2 mm(3) was successfully grown from a liquid phase using NaVO3 as a flux. The isotropic reduction of magnetic susceptibility was observed below 35 K along a-, b- and c-axis in the orthorhombic structure.
