Synthesis optimization of chabasite-like SAPO-47 in the presence of sec-butylamine

Attempts were made to optimize the synthesis of SAPO-47 in the presence of sec-butylamine as templating agent, using 2(k) factorial experimental design. The effect of the preparative parameters leading to a reproducible synthesis procedure, e.g., gel composition, and time and temperature of crystallization were examined. SAPO-47 of high purity was obtained in a wide range of gel compositions using sec-butylamine as templating agent. Under certain less favorable conditions SAPO-5 was identified as impurity. After 2 days, neither the time nor the temperature of crystallization significantly affects the purity of SAPO-47. A strong interaction was observed between the effect of the template and that of the Si and P contents in the initial gel. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
