Cellular structure controllable aluminium foams produced by high pressure infiltration process

摘要
Aluminum foams with controllable cellular structure can be prepared by the high pressure infiltration (HPI) process. This process is better than the traditional low pressure infiltration (LPI) process because it owns the advantages of burnable preform and HPI. The resin coating cannot only keep the cells open, but also adjust the cellular structure of the aluminum foams. The cellular parameters of some aluminum foams prepared by the HPI process are: porosity 73.0-85.8%, cell diameter 1.19-2.85 mm, cell-open degree 0.17-0.42, specific surface 9.6-32.0 cm2/cm3. The formulas are useful for control and measurement of cellular structure of aluminum foams for the HPI process.
