摘要
The prospects of hydrogen as the fuel of future are discussed. With hydrogen as fuel, the fuel cell cycle of pollutants and greenhouse gases can be reduced considerably compared to conventional energy systems. Hydrogen for industrial application is stored as a compressed gas as a cryogenic liquid or in a hydrogen compound such as metal hydride from which the hydrogen is removed by applying heat. As hydrogen is more likely to leak than other gaseous fuels, leak prevention and detection are key safety issues with respect to hydrogen storage.
