摘要
Using the draft sequence of human chromosome 22, blocks with a minimum length of 2K, in which combinations of bases are ordered to degrees higher than the rest, have been mathematically identified. Approximately 400 blocks are characterized with significantly low entropy values for combining 4-9 nucleotides each of the 4 types. These blocks span similar to3.5K bases on average, and altogether occupy 2.0-2.5% of this chromosome. The draft sequence extends from the end of the centromere to the beginning of the telomere, and the occupancy by identified blocks is highest near the two ends, and decreases while shifting nearer to the center.
