摘要
Wavelet transformations are an alternative to Fourier methods in the fields of telecommunication and biology with their capability to analyze nonstationary signals. Wavelet transforms are used for the following biomedical engineering fields: detection of coronary artery disease; analysis of heart sounds in turbulent blood flow; detection of irregular heart beats; characterize changes in the fetal electroencephalograms (ECGs); sound detection in hearing aids; early detection of breast cancer; and compression of medical images.
