A classical approach to resonant low-energy electron scattering off molecules: Application to the a(1)-shape resonance of CF3Cl

摘要
A recently presented classical theory of dissociative electron attachment (DA) [1] is extended to resonant elastic scattering (ES), vibrational excitation (VE), and superelastic scattering (SE). Cross sections sigma(upsilon i-->upsilon f) are calculated. As was done in the case of the theory of DA, the model is applied to the al-shape resonance of CF3Cl. Theoretical cross sections sigma(ES)(300K) and sigma(VE)(300K) are compared with the experimental ones [2]. Predictions are made on sigma(SE)(300K) and on the temperature dependence of all three cross sections.
