Amorphous, nanoquasicrystalline and nanocrystalline alloys in Al-based systems

摘要
A review is given on the recent progress of amorphous Al-based alloys in ribbon and bulk forms produced by melt spinning and various casting and consolidation processes as well as bulk nanogranular Al-based alloys produced by warm consolidation of amorphous, amorphous plus nanocrystalline fcc-Al and nanocrystalline plus fcc-Al alloys obtained by rapid solidification. It is shown that the resulting materials exhibit high tensile strength, good ductility, high fatigue strength, high impact fracture energy and good workability which have not been obtained for conventional Al-based crystalline alloys.
