Dynamical susceptibility in ferromagnetic metal of CoS2 - Inelastic magnetic neutron scattering

Inelastic neutron scattering experiments from a ferromagnetic metal of CoS2 have been performed in a wide (q, omega) space and a wide temperature range across the Curie temperature, T-C. Magnetic excitations in a small q region are well characterized to be spin-waves below T-C. The sharp response of the spin-wave scattering suddenly broadens at q > 0.27 Angstrom(-1) and omega > 8 meV. The paramagnetic fluctuations above T-C are centered at omega = 0 meV, which could be analyzed by a double Lorentzian form in q and omega. The line width Gamma satisfies the dynamical scaling hypothesis; Gamma = A(0)q(2.5)f(kappa(1)/q). The dynamical feature in both below and above T-C indicates that CoS2 is regarded as a typical itinerant ferromagnet.
