We present the results of a photometric monitoring programme of nine G-K dwarf The aim of this programme was to measure the axial rotation periods of five rapid rotators (v sin i > 50 km s(-1)) and four slow rotators (v sin i less than or equal to 10 km s(-1)) to further our study of the distribution of rotation rates of the low-mass population of the cluster. We successfully measured accurate rotation periods for all of the five rapid rotators, most of which exhibited significant rotational modulation. In contrast the slow rotators exhibited light curve amplitudes below the threshold of photometric detectability. We applied a formal statistical analysis to our data and found strong evidence for variability (Delta V similar to 0.03 mag) in only one of the slow rotating targets.
