Risk factors for cardiovascular disease among exercising versus nonexercising women

A cross-sectional study of 1412 women aged 30 to 59 showed that exercisers were younger and had higher incomes. After the researchers controlled for age, they found that exercisers had lower weight, body mass index, and triglycerides and higher HDL levels across all age groups. LDL, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure were lower for two of the three age groups and the same for one age group. Exercisers also rated their health, sense of well-being, and daily energy levels higher than nonexercisers, and reported fewer days of missed work.
