摘要
We have examined the stability of self-assembled monolayers of glycinate on the Cu(001) surface by density functional theoretical calculations. We found that a c(2 x 4) homochiral structure is as stable as a (2 x 4)-pg heterochiral (pseudo-2 x 2) structure, strongly suggesting the co-existence of the both phases. Calculated STM images agree well with the experimentally observed ones. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
