摘要
Laser ablation of air-polymer structured fibre with 193 nm light from an ArF laser is demonstrated. The technique is suitable for cleaving these fibres. The thermal diffusion time across a 200 km diameter fibre is determined to be similar to500 ms from experiment. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
