Growth of piezoelectric single crystals by the flux method

摘要
Transparent single crystals of the piezoelectric materials alpha-GaPO4 have been grown by the spontaneous nucleation method from Li2Mo3O10 flux. The solubility of alpha-GaPO4 in Li2Mo3O10 flux has been determined between 650 and 950 degrees C. Lattice parameters of crystals have been measured by X-ray diffraction. Result of infrared spectroscopy indicates the possibility of growing alpha-GaPO4 crystal without hydroxyl groups by the flux method. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
