Conductivity-temperature behavior of organic electrolytes

Conductivity vs. temperature data for Li salt solutions in a number of organic carbonate solvents correlate well with the Vogel-Tammann-Fulcher equation over a wide Li salt concentration range. The results are consistent with a solvent-assisted ionic conductivity mechanism; we attribute this to the strong interaction between organic solvent molecules and Li ions. It is demonstrated that solvent-assisted ionic transport may be a general phenomenon in aprotic organic electrolytes containing Li salts. (C) 1999 The Electrochemical Society. S1099-0062(99)05-085-3.
