摘要
It is shown that the depth and degree of frost penetration in the leached chernozem (black soil) of the cis-Salair region were minimal in an extremely snow-rich hydrological year when the amount of water accumulated in snow was twice as large as the norm. Significant moistening of soils in autumn and weak frost penetration into ground in winter had a positive effect on the degree of absorption of snowmelt waters. High insolation of the snow cover on the southern slope led to a large loss of moisture due to sublimation. Significant absorption of snowmelt water by the chernozem on hillside surfaces and the immediate water transit outside the soil layer, as well as great sublimation turned out to be the reasons for which the expected extremely high water did not occur in the partitioned areas of West Siberia.
