(Figure Presented) A simple and facile method has been developed that allows water-soluble hybrid materials of Au nanoparticles and hole-doped single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) to be prepared. Uniformly arranged Au nanoparticles (see TEM image) were obtained by the addition of metal salts to surfactant-suspended SWNTs in water using the solution-phase dispersion technique. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
