摘要：

Joining the fold: Micrometer-long and nanometer-thin fibers of four-helix bundles are formed by the folding-mediated assembly of disulfide-linked helix-loop-helix polypeptides (see picture). Fibers form both as a result of heteroassociation at neutral pH and homoassociation at acidic pH values. The heteroassociated fibers also assemble into nanorings with a diameter up to 5 mm.
