Polymerizable polyelectrolyte-surfactant complexes from monomeric ammonium cations and polystyrenesulfonate

摘要
Monomeric surfactants were used to build polymerizable p-s complexes with controlled mesoscopic properties and internal order. The monomer complexes were treated with 60Co γ-radiation to initiate polymerization reactions within the smectic liquid crystalline layers. As a result of this treatment, no changes occurred in the macro- and mesoscopic properties of the complex materials. Based on the results, it is assumed that monomer degradation is the preferred reaction due to the reduced mobility of the monomer units within the complex assembly.
