摘要
The POLES energy model has been used to assess Asia's role in combating climate change and the benefits it stands to gain. This paper focuses on the role of major Asian economies in the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the benefits to their economies from reduced energy import bills. The costs of reaching ambitious emission reduction targets are offset by significant ancillary benefits, such as reduced energy import bills. Lower energy prices account for a share of the import bill reductions. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
