摘要
We report unambiguous experimental evidence for an achiral orthogonal biaxial smectic-A phase which exhibits anti ferroelectric switching behavior. The evidence is based on x-ray-diffraction measurements, texture observation, and the results of dielectric and electro-optical measurements.
