LET effect on the radiolytic yield and the kinetics of the hydrated electron generated by 75 MeV/A C6+ pulses

摘要
This paper presents our first results concerning a new experiment setup carried out on a heavy ions accelerator. For a LET of 30 keV/mu m, obtained with macro-pulses of 20 mu s of C6+ ions, we calculated the yield of the hydrated electron and we tried to describe its disparition kinetics in deaerated pure water. The technic used is a rime resolved absorption spectroscopy at the wavelength 685 nm. We obtain a radiolytic yield of 0.16 molecule/100 eV, at the end of the pulse. The time for half-life is 53 mu s.
