The new conditions to participation are divided into three sets of requirements, relating to (1) patient safety, (2) patient care, and (3) administrative matters. This installment, which is the first of a three-part series on these proposed requirements, addresses the patient safety requirements. The second and third installments will discuss the patient care and administrative provisions of the proposed regulations.
