Modeling of porous membranes for molten carbonate fuel cells

摘要
The use of porous membranes permeable to hydrogen in molten carbonate fuel cells to control the diffusion of electrolyte vapours has been investigated. For this purpose, a mathematical model has been developed to study the influence of the membrane properties on the hydrogen permeate flow and on the electrolyte diffusive flow. The results demonstrated that a porous membrane can be applied to prevent the poisoning of the internal reforming catalyst.
